Anne Joyce Bidyk (Sawchuk) passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Northcott Care Centre on April 15, 2023, at the age of 92 years. Anne was born on November 24, 1930, to Mary and Tom Sawchuk. Anne was the oldest of four girls and together they grew up in the Weasel Creek area until she met the love of her life, Joseph. They married on October 9, 1948, and moved to Ponoka where they raised their family. She worked as a housekeeper at AHP, retired and then spent her retirement years with her family and her garden. Anne was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 66 Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Augustine Catholic Women's League.
Anne will be lovingly remembered by her children; Marlene (Severin) Gartner, Allan (Cathie) Bidyk, Linda Bidyk, Elaine Bidyk, Beverly Bidyk, Brenda (Barry Hoar) Hulsman, and Gail (Ken Robinson) Bidyk. Her great-grandchildren; Ryan Bidyk, Travis Bidyk, Nicole (Erich) Jonas, Garry (Shelan) Hrycyk, Ken Hrycyk (Teesa), Dawn-Lynn (Cole Campbell) Bidyk, Trevor Bidyk, Tracey (Anthony) Medynski, Jamie Bidyk, Tyler (Louise) Hulsman, Shannon (Blake) Sande, Kevin (Keri) Hulsman, Sorrel (Scott) Hawkwood, Wyatt Bidyk, and Blaze Bidyk. Great-grandchildren; Kennedy (Jordan Morin) Hrycyk and Alex Hrycyk, Natalie and Carter Jonas, Ryder, Blaire, Gunner and Nashlyn Hulsman, Grady and Amelia Hrycyk, Teigan and Cayne Campbell, Maverick and Melrose Medynski, Georgia Hawkwood, Willem Hulsman and Evelyn Sande. Anne is also survived by her sisters; Zoria Kuzik and Stella Harding and their families, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
On April 20, 2023, Anne would have become a great-great-grandmother to a beautiful great-great-granddaughter, Autumn Morin.
Anne was predeceased by her husband; Joseph Bidyk; sons Donald and Ken Bidyk; sons-in-law Ernie Hrycyk, Jim Lewis, and Warren Harrick; daughter-in-law Doreen Bidyk; grandson Danny Harrick; sister Jean Boltash; brother in laws Victor Harding, William Kuzik and John Boltash.
Anne's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Northcott for the kind, loving and compassionate care given to Mom over the past few years and in her final days. We would also like to thank the Wombold Family Funeral Homes for all their support and kindness during this difficult time.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Anne's life will be held at the St. Augustine Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, with the Interment Service to follow at Forest Home Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Anne's name are gratefully accepted to Northcott Care Centre or Rimoka Lodge.
