Dear Editor:

I wanted to let people know about something very important, that may have been over looked by many of us, before the coming election.

There was a Child protection law about to pass final reading and become law with – in hours. Sadly the Liberal Senators chose to use a manipulative procedural delay to ensure bill C54 would not pass before the Conservative government’s defeat later the same day. This Delay tactic by liberal Senator’s was especially troubling, considering that C54 had passed Parliament with All –party support. This is to be considered a callous disregard for Canadian children’s wellbeing. After the federal election, Canada Family Action will urge the new government to act quickly to reintroduce the bill, and make it even better.

It seems unlikely that a Liberal government would do this, as the CFA has repeatedly requested meetings with Mr. Ignatieff to discuss Child protection and were ignored. A majority Conservative government is the best hope for improving legislation to better protect our children from sex predators.
