Friendships

A poem from a reader

Dear Editor:

As we sail through life

Friends come and go

A husband, a child, a wife.

The boat can get quite crowded

As we set our sails with the wind

Passengers have to be rerouted.

Don’t get me wrong.

We all have tickets

Continue on with a song

Some of our friends have walked the plank

Some have found their treasure

While some have only pulled a blank.

Carefree passengers make our trip a joy

While others enhance and quicken our pace

Careful who you employ.

Soul mates are golden-

We can tell our troubles to.

We sail by faith and friends untold.
