Let’s help true Canadians first

Something has happened to our country, the work is gone, security is gone and soon the pride will be gone also.

Dear Editor:

We live in Canada, do we not? This is a great country, a country one should be proud to be part of. However something has happened to our country, the work is gone, security is gone and soon the pride will be gone also.

Why is this happening? Is it because we buy more cars from Japan and China than we do from our own carmakers in Canada and the USA? Auto sales are a good piece of the pie but the greater part of that pie in the sky is the fact that we are bringing in workers from other countries. Is that not true? The fast food industry (I don't want to mention names as I may be sued) in both Canada and the USA are going out of the country to bring in workers who will work for much less. Why not just raise the pay so Canadians can at least have a shot at the work within these fast food outlets. It is hard to find a restaurant in Bower Mall in Red Deer or any other food court where a Canadian is working; one seems to step into either China or the Philippines.

I am not prejudiced towards any people however this is Canada, should we not be helping Canadians first?
