Resident asks town to give Greyhound a chance

Dear Editor

As a Senior who relies on the Greyhound for transportation for out of town appointments I feel the new location is an asset for those who take the bus.

Most senior apartment buildings are within four blocks.

The new agent has extended his hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., (thanks!). This means no more standing outside freezing in the winter or sweltering in summer. Those passengers who travelled on Greyhound from Ponoka in the past know what I mean.

So, traffic is a little congested for 15 minutes, two times a day on Chipman Ave. It’s no more so than the delivery trucks blocking traffic on Chipman Ave. and their freight on the sidewalk.

It’s sad that our Town Council didn’t do a survey before making this SNAP decision, after all the new depot had only been in this location for one week. Give it a chance!

Remember, Town Council, would you like your mother or grandmother standing outside in this weather?
