The second annual Light Up Gull Lake Christmas parade is set for Dec. 14.
The event, which will bring together the communities of Sunnyside, Parkland Beach and Poulsen's Pasture is set to start at 6:45 p.m. and is organized by Sunnyside & Area Events Committee.
"We travel around and then we come down to the store," said Neil Jorgenson, owner of Jorgy's Hot Spot Convenience Store. "We had a big turnout last year. It was really good."
There will also be karaoke at the patio shack after the parade until 10:00 p.m., with kids welcome to attend too.
Various floats and community members will be in the parade, including Jorgensen as the Grinch.
"I started two years ago going around dressed as the Grinch in my little green truck. Now I just go in the parade," he said.
Last year's turnout saw 30 or more participants in the parade alone.
"We had a really good turnout, way more than I would have ever expected. I imagine it will probably be even bigger this year."
Santa and Mrs. Claus will even be making an appearance in the parade for all to see.
The parade starts at 7:00 p.m., but people are encouraged to set up their chairs early to get a seat where they wish to view the parade.
Parade marshalling will begin at 6:45 p.m. at Gull Lake Golf Course. Prizes will be announced after the parade at Jorgy's.
There will also be a residential Christmas lighting contest taking place to get people in the holiday spirit.
