Maskwacis and Wetaskiwin RCMP requesting public’s assistance in shooting that left one male injured

The gun shot victim was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. on May 12, 2021, Maskwacis RCMP learned that a male had been dropped off at a local area hospital suffering from a gun shot wound.

The gun shot victim was then transported via STARS Air Ambulance to an Edmonton area hospital where he remains in stable but critical condition.

Maskwacis General Investigative Section (GIS) along with members from the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Wetaskiwin RCMP, began conducting an investigation which lead police to a rural area of the Ermineskin Cree Nation.

At this time the investigation is still ongoing and police are requesting the public’s assistance to come forward with any information they may know about the shooting that could assist in the investigation.
