Maskwacis Cultural College (MCC) is now set up to conduct testing for GEDs.

The General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is a series of subject specific exams that are used to determine if an individual has the knowledge base that is equivalent to a high school diploma.

Through the generous donation of 75 new computers by Peace Hills Insurance, owned by the Samson Cree Nation, MCC can honour the educational visions and dreams of the residents and future generations in Maskwacis as it is now an official GED testing site. The viewing of the site set up along with acknowledgement of the donation was done at a ceremony on July 23 at MCC.

What this means is MCC can take registrations and booking online with year-round testing dates.

While the computers are in place and the classroom ready, MCC staff are presently going through training in order to deliver the GED testing online.

However, MCC can administer the paper copy GED testing immediately.
