Bashaw Community Theatre recently concluded a three-show run of its latest production.
Directed by Lori Miller and Kelly Wilson, Bashaw Community Theatre produced Beauty and the Beast Jr., a school production.
Beauty and the Beast Jr. is based on the original Broadway play, which itself is based on the Disney cartoon of the same name.
The Bashaw production was held at the Bashaw United Church.
According to Pastor Robin King, the word of mouth surrounding the show led to each successive show seeing a bigger and bigger crowd.
Beauty and the Beast tells the story of a young woman, Belle, and the Beast, a prince who had been cursed by an enchantress.
"If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self," states the official synopsis. "But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity."
The production features Aubrey Wilson as Belle, Ethan Schultz as Beast, Hayden Breitmeier as Gaston, and many others with performances that left the audience highly entertained.
Beauty and the Beast ran from Nov. 1-3.
Next up for Bashaw Community Theatre is Elf, Jr., which will run from Dec. 13-15 and be presented by Bashaw Junior High.
