Dog lovers had lots of opportunities to see talented dogs in action during the Wild West WPCA Chuckwagon Finals at the Ponoka Stampede from Aug. 28 to Sept. 2.
Trained dogs, students of Dynamo Dogsports, thrilled the crowds with relay races, pole bending and agility demonstrations as well as freestyle dance and disc performances. The dogs belong to owners and take classes with Dynamo to learn obedience and other skills.
Due to the heat on Sunday, Sept. 1, the working dog demonstration was kept short. Two border collies and their handlers demonstrated how the dogs herd the sheep the direction the handler wants to go.
