Construction on the building, built by Remuda Builders, began about six months ago. “We’re a small family-owned livestock nutrition business that is proud to operate in Ponoka,” said Georges. The store offers feed for a variety of livestock such as chickens, goats, horses and cattle, as well as a couple of pet food lines. Previously, Heartland Feeds was leasing a space behind Central Veterinary Clinic and stored feed in several places. The new building, which has been in operation since the beginning of September, allows all the inventory to be housed under one roof. The owners celebrated their official opening with staff, customers and community members with beef on a bun and cake. Photos by Emily Jaycox
