PHOTOS: Lots was happening around town during Ponoka Stampede Week

There's also a lot going on around town during Ponoka Stampede Week for visitors to enjoy

While the main event during the Ponoka Stampede may be the afternoon rodeo performances, followed by chuckwagon races and evening concerts, there's also a lot going on around town that week for visitors to enjoy.

The third annual Tipi Village, hosted by Louis Bull Tribe with participation by members of the Ermineskin Cree Nation, Samson Cree Nation, and Montana First Nation, and facilitated by the Town of Ponoka, was held from June 25 to 28.

Several events were held at the Calnash Ag Event Centre, including the Summer Spectacular and Canada’s Greatest Horseman competition.

The West Coast Amusements drew large crowds as always, with some new rides this year a welcome addition.

Hammy's held its annual Canada Day barbecue on July 1.

The Ponoka Stampede said this year was their largest Wild West Tradeshow ever with 175 exhibitors.
