PHOTOS: Ponoka Broncs Theatre presents Willy Wonka Jr.

Still two performances left: March 13 and 14

Ponoka Secondary Campus's Broncs Theatre is currently mid-production of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr. 

Opening night was March 8, followed by a matinee performance on March 8. 

Grade 8 student Luc Floyd plays Charlie Bucket alongside Wesley Boyes, Grade 8, as Granpa Joe and Grade 11 student Ava Morency as Willy Wonka. 

The golden ticket winners, who through various misbehaviour find themselves in precarious situations in the factory, are played by: Jenny Burns (Augustus Gloop), Sierra Montesano and Samaya Rudd (Violet Bearugarde), Eilidh Irvine (Veruca Salt), and Sarah Whyte (Mike Teavee). 

Angelina Roy is the narrator and also plays Mrs. Gloop.

The play is directed by Airyn Street and assistant director Chandra Cooke. 

Aleena Roy is the stage manager and Alexandra Beebe does the lighting. 

The musical is based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. 

Words and music are by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley and adapted for stage by Bricusse and Timohty A. McDonald. 

Those wanting to catch a show can still see it on Thursday, March 13, or Friday, March 14. Both performances start at 7 p.m. at the Ponoka Secondary Campus Theatre.

Tickets, which are available for cash purchase at the door before each performance, are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students under 18.
