Pups and their owners enjoyed the Town of Ponoka's official grand opening celebration for the off-leash dog park on June 5.
The park, located at 49 Street south of 57 Avenue, opened to the public and pooches in October, 2023.
The fully-fenced off-leash park features agility equipment for dogs, sheltered seating areas, benches, waste receptacles, double-gated entrances, a gravel walking path and a separate fenced area for small dogs.
During the opening event, Mayor Kevin Ferguson and town councillor Clayton Nelson were on hand to speak to citizens.
Attendees also had a chance to fill out the town's budget input survey and take home a bag of town swag.
Dog owners received a treat and a gift for their dogs.
FURGO Mobile Canine Fitness and Training Services and Old MacDonald Kennels were there to answer questions during the event.
