Ponoka News collected 469 lbs of non-perishable food items and $160 in cash for the Ponoka Food Bank during its annual food drive on Nov. 15, thanks to the generous donations of community members.
This tops the 2023 total of 440 lbs collected.
Ponoka News has been holding an annual holiday food drive for over 20 years.
For the evening of Moonlight Madness, anyone who brought in a donation for the food bank was invited to choose one envelope off the Ponoka News Christmas tree. Inside were coupons and gift cards for various amounts that were donated by local businesses.
All envelopes left over after the night were also donated to the food bank.
The donations were picked up on Monday, Nov. 18.
