Ponoka RCMP are investigating an alleged liquor theft from The Liquor Store in town.

Police say the incident occurred Nov. 2 when a man, wearing a TREO well servicing ball cap entered the store and concealed a 750 ml bottle of Southern Comfort and a bottle of Fireball in his jacket.

A release from RCMP states that the suspect then went to the front counter and said that he forgot his debit card. The clerk noticed the concealed bottle of Southern Comfort and it was returned. The suspect then left the premise with the second concealed bottle of fireball.

Break and enter to rural residence

On Nov. 15 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a break and enter to a rural home on Range Road 261. Unknown suspects gained entrance through the man door and stole tools and liquor.

Break and enter at Wolf Creek subdivision

On Nov. 15 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a break and enter that occurred to a garage located in the Wolf Creek Subdivision.

A 2016 Cadillac SRX was stolen, say police. The vehicle was recovered a short time later in Red Deer with the assistance of the car’s OnStar tracking system. A 23-year-old man from Nova Scotia was arrested. Full details were not available at press time.
