Two seniors from the Ponoka area will now compete in snooker at the 2025 Alberta 55 Plus Summer Games.
Gary Stickney won first place, and Ron Stimson placed second, at the snooker tournament held April 15 at the Ponoka Drop-in Centre. Both players will now present Zone 7 in Leduc from Aug. 21 to 24.
Snooker is a cue sport played on a billiards table that is similar to pool.
"We encourage all adults 55 and over to come visit the senior's centre to find a fun activity to join," said Jo-Ann Reil, a director for the Ponoka area with Alberta 55 Plus.
"An active body is a healthy body."
