The pond at Centennial Park is ready for fishing enthusiasts.

In a release Wednesday, the Town of Ponoka said the pond has been stocked with rainbow trout and is ready for the season.

The town noted that with the addition of the new t-shaped fishing dock installed last year, Alberta Fish and Wildlife and the Ponoka Lions Club have generously added 1,100 trout to the pond.

The town said users can cast along the banks of the Lions Centennial Park Pond, as well as the t-shaped floating fishing dock installed in 2023. The new floating dock has handrails and an access ramp that makes it more easily accessible to people with mobility challenges.

Citizens are reminded that a fishing licence is required to fish at Lions Centennial Park.
