On March 2 the Ponoka Integrated Traffic Unit responded to a complaint of an SUV towing a utility trailer that was in the ditch along Highway 2.

The vehicle was southbound and entered the ditch rotating counter clockwise. The trailer rolled over onto the right side and came to rest in the ditch.

The driver stated that the trailer lost traction due to icy road conditions, which pulled the SUV along with it. No injuries were reported in this incident.

The driver was given a warning for driving too fast for current road conditions.

Vehicle rolls

Also on March 2 the Ponoka Integrated Traffic Unit responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 2 south of Matejka road.

The vehicle went off the road due to wintry driving conditions. The vehicle entered the west ditch and rolled ending up on its roof. A woman was transported to the Lacombe hospital with minor injuries.
