Seasons Ponoka Retirement Community celebrated International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) on Oct. 1.
This year, Seasons Retirement Communities continued its annual festivities, celebrating the contributions of older adults and promoting their rights and well-being with residents and team members.
Seasons Ponoka organized a fall festival with an enchanting masquerade ball for the residents. The festivities included lively entertainment as residents captured memorable moments at the photo booth, complete with fall-inspired props.
“At Seasons Ponoka, we are thrilled to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons with a masquerade ball, a perfect way to bring our residents together,” said Stephanie Waldron, general manager at Seasons Ponoka.
“This day serves as a reminder of the incredible lives and stories of our residents, who continually inspire us with their resilience and wisdom.”
Seasons Retirement Communities across Alberta and Ontario also participated in Active Aging Week, taking on a fitness challenge such as a '4K a Day' walking challenge, a ping pong tournament, mobility, dance or mindfulness challenge with meditation, tai chi and yoga classes.
"At Seasons, overall wellness and active aging are essential, and participation in this program encourages this theme," stated the release.
