Stettler RCMP investigate flight from police

Police looking for help in identifying suspect

Stettler RCMP are looking for a suspect who fled police during a traffic stop.

Police say the incident occurred Oct. 9 at about 12:45 p.m. A Stettler Mountie attempted to initiate a traffic stop after determining the license plate did not match the vehicle.

When the officer turned on the emergency lights, the vehicle at first failed to stop and then fled the scene. A pursuit was not initiated due to public safety.

A screen grab of the vehicle that fled has been supplied by the RCMP which shows what appears to be a flat deck pickup. Police also supplied an image of the suspect.

Stettler RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male subject and/or his vehicle. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Stettler RCMP Detachment or Crimestoppers.
