Superb seasonal fun at the Holly Jolly skating event

There was lots of family fun during the Holly Jolly Public Skate event held on Dec. 22.

"The event was very well attended by about 100 people of all ages at the morning and afternoon skating sessions," said Sandra Smith, the town's communications manager.

"Attendees ranged in age from newborns who were in strollers and sleds on the ice, and seniors who were enjoying the music and festive lighting as they skated. We also played popular Christmas songs, including several requested by children who attended the event," she said.

Smith said this was the second annual Holly Jolly Public Skate, and there are already plans to bring the event back again next year due to popular demand.

"The community also generously donated numerous items to the local food bank which filled a large 4 ft. by 2 ft. box."
