April 30, the Ponoka RCMP were advised of a break and enter to a business in the downtown area.

Video obtained showed a male wearing women’s clothing. The suspect stole a large amount of jewellery and women’s footwear. This file remains under investigation.

On May 2 at approximately 11 p.m., the Ponoka Integrated Traffic Unit were making patrols along Highway 2A near 48th Avenue in Ponoka.

A traffic stop was conducted on a dark blue pick up and a 45-year-old male driver blew a fail on an approved screening device. The male was arrested and charged with impaired by alcohol and impaired operation over .08 while his vehicle was also towed.

On May 6 shortly after midnight, Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter in progress. Upon checking the active video surveillance, the complainant could see two suspects in the garage at the residence.

The thin, approximately 6-foot-tall suspects then moved onto the back deck of the residence and, when they noticed the cameras, they ran off.

Immediate patrols were made and searches in the area were conducted. The camera was unable to capture facial feature of the suspects. Both were wearing hoodies.

The suspect with the light colored hoodie had a backpack. This file remains under investigation.
