The annual Ponoka Stampede Parade (hosted by the Ponoka Stampede and Exhibition Association) will roll through downtown Ponoka on June 28 starting at 10 a.m.
There will be temporary road closures on all roadways along the parade route beginning at about 9 a.m. and ending at about 12 p.m. immediately after the parade wraps up.
The parade will begin at the Ponoka arena (4410 54 St.) heading:
• north on 55 St. (from 45 Ave. to 48 Ave.)
• east on 48 Ave. (from 55 St. to 51 St.)
• north on 51 St. (from 48 Ave. to 57 Ave.)
• east on 57 Ave. (from 51 St. to 50 St.)
• south on 50 St. (from 57 Ave. to 46 Ave.)
• west on 46 Ave. (from 50 St. to 54 St.)
• south on 54 St. (from 46 Ave. to 45 Ave. ) as the parade returns to the arena.
Motorists should avoid the parade route area during the temporary road closures.
