Promising to be informative and a means of community connection, the Ponoka Chamber Trade Show and Job Fair runs April 12-13 at the Ponoka Arena Complex.
“There will be both local and out-of-town exhibitors,” said Sherry Gummow, the chamber’s president, adding that the job fair component is new this year, too.
Job seekers can make use of resources and tools to bolster their searches, and they can connect with local employers on the spot, she said.
“Come check out local artisans, businesses, and new products. Enjoy activities and enter to win some great prizes,” said Gummow.
To date, more than 80 vendors will be onsite.
Gummow said it’s a great opportunity for folks to check out a range of businesses and organizations, some of which may be new to the community and area.
“It’s fun, and it can also highlight businesses that people might not know about.”
She expects upwards of 1,500 people to attend and noted there is something for everyone. A highlight that families will also enjoy is the Birds of Prey Foundation.
There is no charge to attend the event, which runs April 12 from 3 to 8 p.m. and April 13 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, there is also still time to sign on as a vendor.
