The Town of Blackfalds will launch a census later this spring.

The online version starts May 6 and the door-to-door census runs from May 21 – July 26.

Residents will receive their security access code by May 10 via delivery by enumerators, according to a release.

Those who complete the census online by May 20 will be added to a draw to win one of two gift card bouquets to Blackfalds businesses ($500 value/each).

Following SAC delivery, enumerators will visit residents between May 21 and July 26 who have not completed the census online.

Enumerators are responsible for confidential collection and they will be wearing a Town of Blackfalds photo identification badge and branded vests.

Meanwhile, anyone interested in becoming an enumerator is asked to visit blackfalds.ca/census for details.

Municipal staff uses census information to plan for the community’s needs, such as roads, the addition, and location of schools, parks, utilities, protective, fire, and other services, including grant requirements.
