Some properties in Ponoka may be experiencing a water outage due to a watermain break.
At about 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, the Town of Ponoka posted on its Facebook page that crews were working to repair a watermain break at 52 Street and 57 Avenue in Ponoka.
The repair work may result in a possible water outage for properties in the area as water supply to the main may need to be turned off in order for crews to complete the repairs.
To prepare for a possible water outage, residents on 57 Avenue (between 51 and 53 Street) and on 52 Street (between 56 and 58 Avenue) are advised to fill containers and their bathtubs with water.
More details will be provided in the coming hours as crews continue to work on isolating and repairing the watermain break.
