Wolf Creek Public Schools bus drivers succeed at Central Alberta competition

A group of Wolf Creek Public Schools bus drivers received special recognition at the Central Alberta School Bus Road-e-o held on May 25 at Notre Dame School in Red Deer.

The Road-e-o, featured an obstacle course with 11 challenging events and a written component, providing a platform for school bus drivers to showcase and refine their everyday skills.

Betty Clark, WCPS Transportation Manager was thrilled with the turnout and the overall event. 

"We see the Road-e-o as more than just a competition," Clark said. "It's a valuable opportunity for professional development, allowing our drivers to hone their skills in a safe and supportive environment."

Kelli Frere received the prestigious Road-e-o Spirit Award, which recognized her outstanding commitment, enthusiasm, and team spirit.

Ben Murto, Jerry Witvoet, and Andria Helland also all earned spots in the Provincial School Bus Road-e-o competition on June 8 at the AMTA site in Nisku. 

Thirty-two drivers from all across Central Alberta took part in last month's competition.
