The Ponoka Stampede parade proved an exciting affair the morning of June 30, and this year’s ‘Best Overall’ entry was Akamihk Child & Family Services.
In the ‘Professional Category’, first went to AMO Society Children’s Services and second place went to the Calgary Exhibition Stampede.
In the ‘Non Professional’, the first prize went to the Akamihk Child & Family Services with the second place going to Bobtail Nursery.
In the ‘Non-Commercial’ category, first place went to Canada Mental Health with second going to the Battle River Shrine Club.
In the ‘Mounted’ category, first place went to the VJV Auction with second going to Buckshot Bandits.
In the ‘4-H’ category, first place went to the Crestomere 4-H Multiclub.
In the ‘Heavy Hitch’ category, first went to the Rustamere Stables.
In the ‘Light Horse Hitch’ category, first went to the Alberta Friesian Horse, and second place went to the Buckshot Bandits.
In the ‘Antique’ category, first went to Bobtail Nursery.
In the ‘Decorated Vehicles’ category, first went to Gypsy Fringe with second going to Royal Lepage.
In the ‘Sports and Rec’ category, first went to Ponoka Riding & Roping with second place going to Ponoka Minor Soccer.
In the ‘Children’ category, first went to Maddix Houghton.
In the ‘Best Marching Band’ category, first went to The Spirit of Alberta with second going to the Red Deer Royals.
In the Non-Marching Band category, first went to the Lethbridge Collegiate with second going to The Techno Fiddlers.
In the ‘Towns, Citys, and Villages’ category, first place went to the Town of Ponoka, with second going to the Camrose & District Chamber.
