County updates to be aware of

We are still here!!

Although our office is closed to the public, staff are available during our usual office hours 8:30 am – 4:30 pm by phone at 403-783-3333 or email ponokacounty@ponokacounty.com to answer any questions or concerns.

Road bans are now on: loading restrictions have been placed on all gravel roads, chip seal roads and some pavement within the county. Full list is posted on our website www.ponokacounty.com. Please call in or use the county app/website to obtain permits as required.

Waste transfer sites and Bluffton landfill are open for regular hours. To ensure the safety of our staff, please off load your own garbage and follow our staff’s directions at the site. Safe social distancing is requested.

Once again Fire Season is upon us and burning permits are required. To assist residents, permits can be obtained using our Ponoka County App, on the county website under forms or call the office 403-783-3333.

Looking for something to keep the family entertained. Check out Sparky’s Schoolhouse website https://sparkyschoolhouse.org/. Great learning activities for the family.

TAX NOTICES are on hold pending a Provincial decision on due dates – we will keep you posted.

If you have questions regarding COVID-19 please refer to Alberta Health Services website for information and advice. The website is: www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-albertans.aspx.

Ponoka Council and staff are working behind the scene to ensure the services to residents of Ponoka County continue. Please be patient with the necessary AHS protocols in place.
