Magic shows, a farmer’s market and the chamber of commerce, oh my!

Come one, come all to Ponoka’s “Under the Big Top” circus-themed trade fair where this year, more than 100 vendors will be located.

Sponsored by Ponoka Ford and Battle River RV, the Ponoka and District Chamber of Commerce guarantees a good time April 23 and 24 with activities, prizes and entertainment.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun for all ages,” said Lana Johnson, chamber executive manager. “There will be more booths than there was last year and so many vendors to look through.”

Located at the arena complex, the trade fair will be open from 3 to 9 p.m. April 23, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 24. Bob Hepp will run the concession that includes a circus-themed menu.

Tickets can be purchased at the door.

What will people find at the fair?

A car show will run for the duration of the event and will exhibit all of Ponoka Ford and Battle River RV’s inventory at marked down prices and a talent show will also run over both days on the main stage.

Also available will be the first farmer market at the fair, rock climbing, a Wii skateboarding competition, live entertainment including clowns and magic shows, circus camp, circus trick contest, face painting, balloon twisting, mini golf, a chance to win an IPod Touch from ponokalive.ca, door prizes and a 500 key magic chest where prizes donated by local businesses can be won.
