April 14 Ponoka town council to be held electronically

Meeting will be held via Zoom, starting at 6 p.m.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health and safety of the public, elected officials and Town employees, Ponoka Town Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 14, electronically via Zoom beginning at 6 p.m.

Members of the public are welcome to observe the meeting online or by phone. Citizens who wish to observe the meeting must first register by phoning 403-783-4431 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. Once they are registered, citizens will be provided with a meeting ID and password, and can observe the meeting using any of the following options:

  • By phone, dial 1-800-961-6583 and enter the Meeting ID when prompted.
  • Citizens who wish to observe the meeting online will be provided with a Zoom meeting audio link that allows them to listen to the meeting proceedings.
  • Citizens can also download the Zoom app and join the meeting by entering the Meeting ID and password when prompted.

Alberta Municipal Affairs has given municipalities flexibility under the Meeting Procedures (COVID-19 Suppression) Regulation to hold Council and committee meetings electronically during the COVID-19 outbreak in order to comply with social distancing requirements outlined by the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
