Maskwacis RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that occurred late in the evening of March 15.

Police say that just after 10 p.m. a local gas bar was robbed at gunpoint by two male suspects. RCMP seek the public’s assistance in identifying them.

Using long-barreled rifles the suspects were masked and one had a sports type bag. That man demanded his bag be filled with money and cigarettes while the second suspect pointed his firearm at a different employee ordering them to lay on the ground.

Police say no one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired.

The suspects subsequently fled with a bag full of cigarettes and a small amount of cash. It is believed they entered a vehicle described as a 2010 Nissan SUV, which was black or dark red in colour

The first suspect is described as being Caucasian and he was wearing a grey Crooks and Castles hoodie, grey sweatpants, bright red shoes and a black mask.

The second suspect is described as a man of unknown race. He was wearing a black hoody, black pants, black shoes and white socks, with white socks on his hands.

The Wetaskiwin RCMP General Investigation Section as well as the Maskwacis Community Response Unit are assisting with this investigation.
