RCMP are looking for the witness to an attempted abduction Sept. 11 on Highway 2A just south of Hobbema.

A woman reported to Ponoka RCMP that she was hitchhiking on Highway 2A, three miles south of Hobbema around 11:15 a.m. when a southbound green tractor-trailer unit hauling two loaded flat-bed trailers pulled up beside her.

The driver got out of the vehicle and spoke to her briefly before grabbing her and attempting to drag her toward his vehicle.

It was around this time another vehicle approached and the suspect released her and went back to his vehicle, RCMP said.

Ponoka RCMP are looking for the driver of the second vehicle, believed to be a red grain truck, to contact police with information on the suspect.

Anyone with information can contact Ponoka RCMP at (403) 783-4472.
