Everyone needs hope for the future. With the help of the Cash and Cars Lottery, the Alberta Cancer Foundation provides that hope and support for patients and their families facing cancer in Alberta.

The Alberta Cancer Foundation directly supports all 17 cancer centres in Alberta, including the Cross Cancer Institute and Tom Baker Cancer Centre.

Cash and Cars Lottery ticket buyers support programs that have a clear line of sight to cancer patient outcomes. Early screening. Personal and financial comfort. Patient navigation help. Cutting-edge, impactful research. Albertans helping Albertans.

In 2007, Cameron Lane was diagnosed with melanoma. Initial treatment and surgery were successful. Several years later the cancer returned and in 2013 after several more surgeries, the cancer had spread to his lungs.

“I had four tumours in my lungs, and I felt like a ticking time bomb,” he says. Fortunately, Cam was eligible for a clinical trial at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton.

By July 2014, Cam had a complete response to the clinical trial treatment and the tumours in his lungs had disappeared.

Today, the dad of three is healthy.

“Six years ago, if it wasn’t for this trial, I would not be here. I have had years of great memories and moments with my family.”

Albertans’ support of the Cash and Cars Lottery, the You Win 50, and Win Daily lotteries help to create those kinds of moments.
