The Town of Ponoka’s Police Advisory Committee (PAC) is looking for input from local citizens about public safety and crime prevention.
The committee has launched a ‘Questionnaire for Community Input’ to give citizens the opportunity to voice their thoughts and ideas on how to keep Ponoka a safe and secure community.
“(PAC’s) main role is to give our local citizens a voice on public safety and crime prevention,” said chief administrative officer (CAO) Sandra Lund in a press release.
“That is why we are inviting people to fill out this questionnaire and to come chat with committee members at the Town of Ponoka’s booth at the Ponoka Trade Show.”
The Police Advisory Committee is an advisory committee to Ponoka town council. The committee passes along any feedback and concerns about crime prevention and public safety issues identified by residents to council, the local RCMP and the town’s CAO.
CAO Lund serves in a resource role on the committee.
Citizens can chat with PAC members at the town’s booth at the Ponoka Trade Show on Saturday, April 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Arena Complex (4410 54 St.).
During this event, paper copies of the ‘Questionnaire for Community Input’ will be available to fill out. Paper copies be at the town office after the trade show as well.
The questionaire can also be found on the town’s online engagement website at www.LetsTalkPonoka.ca.
To participate in the questionnaire other town projects on the website, citizens will be asked to register for the site by providing their email and postal code.
All personal information is kept confidential. By registering, users can also receive updates on PAC initiatives and other town projects, and their input can help guide decision making by the town.
