The Town of Ponoka is encouraging residents to fill out the Citizen Input Survey at www.LetsTalkPonoka.ca and provide input on the 2024 budget.
After submitting a survey, citizens will be entered to win a $100 utility bill credit or a three-month individual recreation pass.
The Citizen Input Survey invites residents to share their thoughts and suggestions on matters such as the top priorities they think are important for the council to consider in the budget and key factors they feel contribute to the quality of life in Ponoka.
The survey is available online at www.LetsTalkPonoka.ca as part of a virtual budget open house being hosted by the Town.
The online open house provides residents the opportunity to learn more about the budget process, how funds are allocated, and will answer ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ about the budget.
Paper copies of the budget open house and the Citizen Input Survey are also available for pick up and drop off at the Town Office (200, 5604—50 St.), the Ponoka Aquaplex (5315—46 Ave.), and the Ponoka Arena Complex (4410—54 St.) during regular business hours.
Completed surveys can be mailed to the Town office at #200, 5604—50 St. The postal code is T4J 1G5.
They can also be dropped in the drop box inside the west doors of the Ponoka Civic Centre.
The survey will remain open at these locations and online until Sept. 10.
Citizen input collected from the survey and from public feedback during Coffee with Council events will be summarized and presented to council for review during the budget deliberation process.
Deliberations will be held on Nov. 1 and 2 in council chambers on the third floor of the Ponoka Civic Centre, and they are open to the public.
A summary of the input received will be shared with the public.
