Collision with snow plow after driver falls asleep

A motorist was issued a 24-hour driving suspension after he fell asleep and his vehicle collided with a plow truck.

Ponoka RCMP, EMS and the Ponoka County East District Fire Department were called to the scene of the collision at around 4 a.m. on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred on Highway 2 by the Menaik Road overpass. The motorist was southbound when the man allegedly fell asleep and his vehicle collided with the back of an Alberta Highways plow truck.

The 24-year-old Peace River man was issued the suspension for driving while tired and was taken by EMS to an area hospital with undetermined injuries.
