The East Ponoka 4-H Beef season has begun.

On Oct. 1, we had our first club meeting. During this meeting we chose our leaders and selected a date for weight day.

Oct. 10, was weight day at VJV Ponoka. Our project steers and buddy steers were weighed, as well as vaccines and growth implants.

Every year our club is part of a community service event. We chose to participate in candle lighting on Oct. 12.

We put candles on fallen soldiers’ graves at the Ponoka cemetery. Club members enjoyed snacks and drinks later at the Legion.

Oct. 20, there was a feed presentation at TNT Electric and Controls. This presentation was hosted by the Ponoka West 4-H club.

During the presentation we learned about the grower and starter feeds for our steers.

Nov. 8, we held a club meeting. During this meeting we elected our club executives and made some plans for a Christmas party.
