East Ponoka 4H report

On April 10, Ponoka East 4H Beef held our Show and Sale Mini Show. At the Mini Show, we learned how to wash, blow dry, brush, clip, and lead the steers, like we would at Show and Sale. The clinician for the mini show was Rylee Sharp. A big “Thank you” goes out to Rylee for all her great work and information that day. On Saturday, May 1, the Ponoka East Beef club will be doing the annual Highway Cleanup.

On Tuesday, May 4, Ponoka East Beef 4H, along with the West club, is holding their Show and Sale. We will be auctioning steers off virtually at the Show and Sale again this year.

The steers to be auctioned off from the Ponoka East club are: Sev, Ferrari, Roasted Marshmello, Judge, Carbon, Sir Loin, Scott, Bronco, Marshmello, and Bullseye.

There is also a charity steer. This year’s steer, Rango, will be raffled off at $5 per ticket. The draw will be held immediately after the Ponoka District Show and Sale, being held online from VJV.

This year’s charity steer proceeds go to the Make A Wish Foundation. Please join us for the sale on Tuesday, May 4. Bidding will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on vjvauction.com/ponoka.
