In case you missed it, a new bus service now stops in Ponoka, taking passengers to either Calgary or Edmonton with stops along the way.
Edmonton-based bus service Cold Shot started its Edmonton-Calgary route on Aug. 10, 2019, to fill the service void left by Greyhound since Oct. 2018.

The route makes stops in Leduc, Millet, Wetaskiwin, Ponoka, Lacombe, Blackfalds, Innisfail, Olds and Crossfield, as well as Calgary and Edmonton.
Ponoka resident Cathy Corfield was pleased when she heard of the bus service recently, and plans to take advantage of it.
“I’m excited that it’s here,” said Corfield, adding she feels it’s really needed.
“It’s nice to know we can get out of town if we need to.”
Corfield says she has a friend who’s suffered a stroke that can’t drive and uses Cold Shot to get to Edmonton and Red Deer.
The bus to Calgary stops at the Ponoka Petro Canada on Hwy. 53 at 9:55 a.m. and departs at 10 a.m. every Friday.
The bus to Edmonton stops in Ponoka at the same location at 5:50 p.m., departing at 5:55 p.m. every Friday.
