Greyhound makes last stop

By Jasmine Franklin

As of March 19, those hoping to use the bus services of Greyhound will be out of luck in the Town of Ponoka.

The Huskey station on Highway 2A has decided to close down its Greyhound outlet due to difficulty in the management of two businesses.

“The main thing is that we have to maintain our convenience and gas store that is our main business,” Huskey manager Mike Ro said. “It is very difficult for our family as it is too much work.”

Upon contacting Greyhound both by phone and website, there was no mention of the closure. However, Ro ensures that the Greyhound outlet is closed.

“They were not paying enough for our employees,” Ro said. “We have to maintain our main business.”

Ro’s brother, Hee, told the Ponoka News about 30 people use the services daily.

There is no word on the opening of another Greyhound outlet.
