A nine-year-old Hobbema girl who was hurt playing around oilfield machinery is in stable condition in hospital.
The girl slipped and fell while playing around a pumpjack at 11: 30 a.m. Aug. 20, said Cam Heke, spokesman for STARS air ambulance.
She was partially crushed by the pump’s counterweight, suffering a serious injury, he said. The girl was taken by ground ambulance to Hobbema’s bingo hall and then transported by STARS to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
