Robert Dempsey Jackson entered a plea of not guilty on April 18 at Ponoka provincial court. Jackson’s next court date will be in Wetaskiwin provincial court on June 9 for pre trial set-up. The pre-trial will be in Ponoka on Aug. 26 and 27.

Jackson is charged with 34 charges including 15 charges of theft over $5,000, 14 charges of fraud over $5,000 and five charges of uttering forged documents.

He was released on $50, 000, no cash recognizance.

Jackson worked at Vold, Jones and Vold Auction Company Ltd. in Ponoka and the charges are from alleged cattle transactions. The investigation is from 1994 and 2007. VJV is reported to be the only victim with a loss that is reported to be over $350,000.
