Lacombe-Ponoka MLA Ron Orr has given Travis Toews, MLA for Grande Prairie-Wapiti, his seal of approval in the United Conservative Party (UCP) leadership race to replace Jason Kenney.

“I support Travis Toews for the leadership of the UCP and province because he is a balanced conservative,” said Orr in a press release. “He balanced the budget through careful spending controls where needed which also allowed increasing budgets to important provincial ministries which Albertans care about.”

“I’m pleased to have Ron – a strong voice for Albertans and the people of Lacombe-Ponoka – stand with me,” said Toews. “I’m humbled by and grateful for his support. I know the importance local MLAs have in their communities, and the people of his riding have a strong voice at the table.”

As of June 24, Toews had received the endorsement of 23 MLAs.
