Lacombe-Ponoka UCP candidates ready themselves for votes

Voting dates for the UCP candidate for Lacombe-Ponoka are set for September

Two voting dates have been set for the Lacombe-Ponoka UCP candidates.

The Lacombe-Ponoka United Conservative Party Constituency Association issued a press release Friday stating that voting dates are set for September for the three candidates: (in alphabetical order) Thalia Hibbs, Ron Orr and Rita Reich.

UCP memberships need to be valid and ready by Aug. 30, states the release.

A forum for the candidates is set for Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre at 7 p.m.

“The person we select, could be the next MLA for our area, so your attendance and participation is important. The local media is welcome to attend,” states the release.

There will be two voting dates and locations to cast your ballot:

• Lacombe Legion – Thursday, September 20, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• Ponoka Legion – Friday, September 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In order to vote, you need a valid UCP membership, Photo ID and proof of residence. Please note that there will be no memberships sold at the door. The winning candidate will be announced after the poll closes on Friday.
