A masked man committed an armed robbery at 7:40 p.m. at the Reddi Mart in Ponoka last night, RCMP Ponoka Detachment reported.
According to the account of the incident given by the police, the suspect produced a machete and demanded cash from the clerk. After receiving the undisclosed amount of cash, the man then fled on foot and no vehicle was seen when the man left.
The suspect is described as approximately 5'3" in height and weighs between 120 to 140 pounds. He was wearing a black and white snow jacket with hood and black snow pants.
There were no injuries in the incident.
