UPDATED: Male wanted for Montana First Nation shooting arrested

UPDATE:

Maskwacis RCMP would like to thank the media and public’s assistance in locating Darcy Cattleman. Cattleman was arrested without incident in Conklin, Alta.

Cattleman was held for a judicial interim release hearing and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Thursday, Dec. 10 2020 at 9:30 a.m.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Maskwacis RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 30-year-old Darcy Cattleman in relation to a shooting on June 27, 2020 on the Montana First Nation.

The Maskwacis RCMP General Investigative Section (GIS) is searching for Cattleman. Other individuals have been located, arrested and charged, but Cattleman, the last suspect, remains at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Cattleman, from Maskwacis, is wanted for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and aggravated assault.

He is described as an Indigenous male, 5’6 tall and about 130 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

The suspect is believed to be residing within the area of Maskwacis, or the City of Edmonton. Police are asking the public not to approach him but to contact police immediately if located.
