The Maskwacis Employment Centre (MEC) is reminding job seekers to be prepared, bring your resume and dress to impress for their Fall Job Fair. The event will be MEC’s first in-person job fair since 2019.

The fair is being held on Oct. 27 at the Howard Buffalo Memorial Centre and will include employers from all over Alberta. The event is open to anyone who would like to attend.

So far, there are 66 registered vendors.

“The majority is employers, however, we also have some training providers and post-secondary institutions for those interested in pursuing higher education,” said Lana Johnson, executive director at MEC.

Johnson provided a few tips on how to make a good impression:

- Dress for success and fit to your industry;

- bring several copies of your resume bring a note pad and pen to write down information;

- practice your elevator speech (a little bit about yourself what you’re interested in and why they should consider hiring you);

- ask questions — don’t be shy, and

- make sure to smile.

If you’re a business or other vendor wishing to attend, register at maskwacisemloyment.ca.

There is no need for job seekers or visitors to pre-register as they will be taking registration at the door.
