Maskwacis RCMP issue warrant for attempted murder charges

The warrant stems back to an incident on Jan. 8.

Maskwacis RCMP have issued an arrest warrant stemming from an incident occuring at the Louis Bull Tride on Jan. 8.

On Jan. 8, RCMP officers responded to a report of a male who had sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

While the victim has since recovered, RCMP officers have continued investigating the incident and have identified Jared Chad Roasting, 29, as a suspect in the case.

The warrant issued for Roasting lists the charges as attempted murder, aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender (twice), and discharge of an air gun or air piston with intent to endanger life.

Roasting is described as having a medium complexion, standing around 5-foot 7-inches tall, weighing around 125 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Roasting, a resident of Maskwacis. is known to frequent the municipality, as well as Wetaskiwin and Edmonton.
